Goa diaries :)

Before we even touched down in Goa, India we knew we were in for a crazy adventure. Before we landed, the air hostess asked us to cover our faces whilst they disinfected the plane with what smelt like toxic fumes! Unfortunately my backpack didn’t make it, so I had to get used to the feel of boxer shorts (thanks Phil :)) We caught a taxi outside the airport, not a difficult task as they were literally fighting over us! We…

Angeles…

We arrived in Manila airport, always a treat lol and went outside to meet our taxi guy Roly who Dad’s friend had organized for us to be brought to Angeles city! Now we had read a bit about Angeles city in the guidebook and so we were aware of what kind of tourist it normally attracts and all that but I was still shocked when we arrived there at night and drove along near the walking street! There were so…

Palawan

We headed straight to our accommodation on White beach road in Puerto Princessa where we met our super lovely host Jessica. Unfortunately I lost my Iphone on the plane and Jessica rang the airports and airlines for me inquiring about it, I never did get it back but this was really lovely of her to do ? We had the interesting experience of squishing ourselves into a trike and heading to town, the trikes are pretty cheap at 50 pesos…

Langkawi take 2

So we sat in the bus station and booked our flight (for 3 hours time!) to Langkawi. Cost us the small sum of 20 euro (never got a last minute flight so cheap in my life!) Flying out of KL was something else, it’s like a city in the midst of a jungle, I was super happy to be soaring above it ? The landing into langkawi was just as special, flying over the sandy beach and seeing the mountain…

South Myanmar

We returned to mandalay for a rest before we headed to the unexplored south. We took a taxi out to Mandalay hill and I must say it is really worth a visit. You get an amazing view of the city from the top and on the way up there are pretty gardens all dedicated to love. By the way, you can take off your flip flops and carry them with you (all the locals do!), they claim you can’t as…

Returning to Thailand..Islands,Christmas in Bangkok…

We left Cambodia with fond memories of trekking, minority groups, chasing wild elephants, eating many plants and barks in the jungle and of course the wonderful people we met ? We took the bus from Andoung tuek to Bangkok, taking 10 hours (if you’re lucky!) and costing around $19. The border crossing was easy as pie but we felt bad for the people coming the other way. They were getting scammed into a quarantine testing zone for a few dollars…

Kampot and Kep

We arrived in Kampot town handily via minivan with pick up from our hotel ? What a contrast to the rest of Cambodia! This place is so clean with many expensive cars and so many French tourists, you’d swear you were in Cannes! It’s more expensive to stay and eat here in general but we found a great budget restaurant called Captain Chims with yummy fish and chips (so good to not have grizzly pork and rice lol). We got…

Cambodian coast, the good, the bad,the ugly!

So we had the bus ride from hell to get here! (the bad, the very bad!)! We were sold a direct ticket from battambang to Sihanoukville, it was meant to take 10 hours. We left Battambang at 7.30 am and arrived in Sihanoukville at 11pm! There was a stop of two hours in Phnom Penh and a change of bus and a beyond crap driver to the coast who must have thought he was driving a tractor (did not go…
